The State Hermitage and The State Hermitage Museum Official Hotel held an annual event dedicated to the anniversary of the lifting of the Siege of Leningrad
On the 27th of January 2015 at 6 pm in the State Hermitage Museum Official Hotel the commemoration meeting dedicated to the 71st anniversary of the full lifting of the siege of Leningrad took place.
The director of the State Hermitage Mikhail Piatrovskiy addressed with the acknowledgements to the veterans, survivors of the siege, battle-front veterans who defended Leningrad, workers of culture and children of the blockaded Leningrad. The guests were greeted by the general director of the Hermitage Hotel Elshan Babaev, the head of the municipal corporation Vladimirskiy district Ivan Plyusnin and the chairman of the trade union committee joint stock company Imperial Porcelain Factory Larisa Komyagina.
The meeting on the day of the lifting of the siege in the Hermitage hotel became traditional and combines people of different professions and occupations who are by twist of fate connected with our city, our district and even street. The co-workers of the State Hermitage, representatives of the Journalists’ and Theatrical union, the members of the public organization “Resident of Blockaded Leningrad “, veterans of the sport came to recollect the tragic days of the siege and their comrades.
The acknowledgement of those born after the war – of the grateful descendants, children, grandchildren of the heroic defenders of the city was expressed in the speeches, in the gala concert for the veterans of the war and the resident of blockaded Leningrad “For those who remember and love”. The fragments from the future documentary film under the name “Hermitage in the years of blockade” screened by the art studio “Image” to the 70th anniversary of the victory in the Second World War was shown during the event. The film producer Natalia Rodomanova told about the film to the guests. The participants of the event were invited to the gala dinner and given presents – beautiful creations of the Imperial porcelain factory made to the 250th anniversary of the State Hermitage.
